PioneersBill Lane Bill Lane was an extraordinary ambassador for sustainability in Portola Valley. We will remember him fondly for his inspiration, leadership and commentary at town meetings. He said "Not everyone has the resources to invest in new energy-efficient devices, but everyone can conserve". Let's conserve electricity, gas, gasoline and water in memory of Bill. He is photographed at one of his many 90th birthday celebrations in the Konditorei Coffee Shop, Ladera, where he also played the part of Santa Claus with joy.
